Publishing deal for alumnus Stuart Gillespie
Congratulations to alumnus Stuart Gillespie who has secured a publishing deal for his hybrid memoir Food Fight. It will be published by Canongate in 2025. The book takes the reader on a journey from the horrors of sugar slavery through to our present dysfunctional food system. But it’s also a hybrid memoir that draws on his own experiences over the last forty years.
‘Enrolling in the Life Writing programme in 2019 triggered my decision to write Food Fight,’ he says. ‘Without the insights, tips and tactics so generously shared by Holly Dawson, Hannah Vincent and Laura Wilkinson, along with a great bunch of fellow students, I simply wouldn’t have been able to write it.’
If you want to write a memoir, or other piece of life writing, why not join our two-year Life Writing Programme starting at the end of September. We’re holding a taster session on 2nd September so you can try before you commit. Further details are here.
