Join us for Publishing Day
If you’re a writer and you’ve got a book and you want to get it published, then you need to come to Publishing Day on Saturday 31st May to find out how.
Publishing Day is a day-long exploration of the publishing world where you’ll hear from agents, publishers, published authors and booksellers about how to get your work from manuscript to bookshelf.
The event is held online and it structured into short workshops with lots of breaks:
📚 Routes into publication⠀
📚 The role of the agent and publisher
📚 Writing an eye-catching synopsis ⠀
📚 Crafting the perfect covering letter
📚 What happens between a contract being signed and a book hitting the shelves?
📚 The bookseller’s perspective⠀
In-between the sessions you’ll hear from CWP alumni about their journey to publication.
Our publishing day is the best way to understand the publishing process a little bit better.
Using everything you’ve learned on Publishing Day, a month later on Saturday 28th June, there’s an opportunity to have a one-to-one consultation with an agent or editor about your work. This is only open to students and alumni of the Creative Writing Programme and only to writers who have a full first draft of their work. If you’re not at that stage yet, then you can always come back in future years – it’s an open invitation for CWP alumni. The deadline for submitting work to agents for these consultations is Monday 9th June.
Publishing Day costs £39.99 while the agent consultations are £30 for students and alumni. You can find out more and book on Eventbrite:
